Don’t Forget To Vote
Just returned from voting, and I am happy to say that I did not encounter any problems. For those who have yet to cast their ballots, I would like to remind you not to trust the exit polls which networks will begin to release around 5 PM Eastern time. Once those numbers are released we will almost certainly begin seeing major media outlets calling the race for Obama in the same fashion as they did for Kerry. Do not let these numbers deter you from casting your vote, as we have seen in past elections, and even in this years primaries, exit polls are not very accurate. Having said that, I would like to leave you with an election day poem I received in my email this morning:
Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!
I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.
When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys
They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!
He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink
He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!
On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi’
He screamed at the pairs!
They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn’t stand up and fight!
So I leave you to think
On this one final note-
IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM
GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

You mean like that ‘rescue package’ that nationalizes a large portion of the banks and financial institutions in the US? Yup… let’s keep on going in full career down the scarlet brick road. Onward to Trotskyism!

The right wing is so pathetic. Red-baiting half a century after Truman’s saber-rattling containment policy, which precipitated the Cold War, and Eisenhower’s foolish attempt to curry favor with Nasser by calling on the English and French to leave the Suez, only to have him instantly ally himself with the USSR… That being the point at which we gave the CIA unprecedented clout, which has been the underlying cause of all of the problems we face in the Middle East today…
The Republican Party, I submit to you, is nothing more than a moldy political anachronism–a truth no better illustrated than by the fact that for the first time since the Age of Roosevelt, a majority of Americans advocate strong, forceful government intervention in just about every aspect of American domestic policy, education, the economy, and health and human services among them.
