Obama: Questions About Abortion Are Above My Pay Grade

If you were to ask the average American the question “At what point does a baby get human rights”, the majority would of them would be able to offer some form of answer. Wether they consider that point to be at conception, at birth, or at some point during the developmental stages, most Americans have an opinion on the issue. Not Barack Obama, he believes this is “above his pay grade“:

Asked at what point a baby gets “human rights,” Obama, who strongly supports abortion rights, said: “… whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity … is above my pay grade.”

Translation “My view on human rights for babies would be so shocking to the average American I refuse to answer this question on national television”.

It is obvious why Obama would avoid answering this question, as just this weekend it was proven that he had voted against a bill which would mandate medical treatment for infants who survive an abortion. Barack Obama’s view on human rights do not extend to infants who are born alive, unless they are wanted by their mothers.

Ed Morrissey:

As President — even as Senator — Obama is expected to have an answer for this. Quite literally, there is no higher pay grade in the US government, and abortion is one of the issues he has to face. If he can’t face it, then he should go back to community organization and leave politics for people who can. John McCain had no trouble answering the same question. Obama dodged it — and for good reason: his answer would have exposed his radical views.

Barack Obama would rather avoid answering the tough questions than allow the American people to see exactly how far to the left his views really are. In doing so, he is reminding us that although he has promised to usher in a new form of politics, he is no different than the shifty politicians who came before him. Bill Clinton once famously said, “It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.” Barack Obama now appears to be saying “It depends on what the meaning of human is”.

It is a simply question Barack, should a child who survives an abortion be granted human rights, or be left to die?
