Obama’s Camp Attacks McCain on Czechoslovakia - Proceeds to Make Same Error
THe Obama camp attacked John McCain earlier this week for making comments referring to Czechoslovakia, not once but twice. The problem, as was noted, is that Czechoslovakia no longer exists, having been divided into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1993. Obama’s campaign took delight in forwarding the news stories to supporters, and rightfully so. After all had Obama spoken about the USSR in present tense McCains staff would had done the same.
Unfortunately for Obama however, the very next day his foreign policy advisor, and potential VP Sam Nunn, also referred to the non existent country of Czechoslovakia.
I doubt we will hear much more on the issue now that both campaigns are guilty of making the same error, but it is somewhat amusing that Nunn was unaware of the flak that McCain had taken over the issue.
