Words Of Wisdom From Obama’s Pastor

For those of you unfamiliar with Barack Obama’s Reverand Jeremiah Wright, prepare to hear alot about him in the coming days. Since the beginning of Obama’s candidacy the Rev. Wright has been mentioned several times as being a controversial figure in his life. Recent investigations from ABC News and Fox News show us just how controversial the Reverend truly is.

Fox News purchased some of Rev. Wright’s sermons and here are some statements made from the pulpit:

“Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people,” Wright said. “Hillary would never know that.

“Hillary ain’t never been called a n*gger. Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.”

“We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns and the training of professional killers. … We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. … We conducted radiation experiments on our own people. … We care nothing about human life if the ends justify the means.

Here is a video of one of Rev. Wright’s “surmons”

ABC News has more:

“The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people,” he said in a 2003 sermon. “God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.”

In addition to damning America, he told his congregation on the Sunday after Sept. 11, 2001 that the United States had brought on al Qaeda’s attacks because of its own terrorism.
“We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye,” Rev. Wright said in a sermon on Sept. 16, 2001.

“We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost,” he told his congregation.

God Damn America indeed for having “spiritual leaders” like the Rev. Wright teaching our children that they live in an oppressive country when the truth is the exact opposite. I wonder if these are the types of lessons Barack and Michelle instill in their daughters, who ironically live a life of privelage that 99% of Americans, black or white, could only dream of.

Exit Question: Is the Rev. Wright the inspiration behind Michelle Obama’s “America is downright mean” comment?

  1. As I posted on another site a few days ago - I guess I’d hate America, too (just like Michelle Obama) if I listened to Rev. (?) Wright every Sunday.

BTW - I enjoy your posts!

  2. Thank you Carol. I try and update at least twice a day, so feel free to bookmark this site and check back often.

  3. Democrats quoted Hagee as saying the Catholic Church conspired with Nazis against the Jews and that Hurricane Katrina was God’s retribution for homosexual sin, and they recited his demeaning comments about women and flip remarks about slavery.

“Hagee’s hate speech has no place in public discourse, and McCain’s embrace of this figure raises serious questions about John McCain’s character and his willingness to do anything to win,” said Tom McMahon, executive director of the Democratic National Committee.

McCain was pressed on the issue Friday morning in Round Rock, Texas. Hagee “supports what I stand for and believe in,” McCain said.

“When he endorses me, that does not mean that I endorse everything that he stands for and believes in,” McCain said. “I don’t have to agree with everyone who endorses my campaign.”

He added that he was “proud” of Hagee’s spiritual leadership of his congregation at the 17,000-member Cornerstone Church.

The Catholic League and Catholics United called on McCain to reject the endorsement.

What about his minister this gay hates everybody. And and why does this both me. I’m Catholic so see it bothers the person it reflects. What Obama’s minister says has merit. The deliver is wrong and tatty but “All men are created equal” was written by our founding fathers and it was never true. Black Americans were not human and this continued until late 1960’s. Why is there a fair housing act? Because it was not equal. Why did we need a Affirmative Action? Because it was not fair. So yes he I not showing unity and his message is quite hateful. But sometimes the truth hurts. What about McCain’s minister endorsement missed that one.
