The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued a press release today which has been picked up but numerous News outlets without any verification of the contents prior to publishing. The press release runs under the heading Hate Site Comments Suggest Violence Against Missouri Mosque and blatantly labels LittleGreenFootballs a “hate site”. For those of you who have never visited LGF I invite you to click the link above and do so now. What you will find there are blog postings concerning terrorist actions taking place worldwide, as well as stories of governments appeasing Muslims in an effort to avoid further attacks. What you will not find from the author Charles Johnson are any threats or even implications of violence against Muslims or any other group.

In a post today Johnson explains his side of the story, noting that the threats brought to the FBI’s attention were from the comment sections, not from his own blog postings.

My question to both of these newspapers: why the hell don’t you contact me before running this crap? It’s not hard to find Little Green Footballs on the web, and there’s a handy contact form that sends me an email right there on every page.

If either of you had bothered to do your jobs, you would have heard that:

* There are more than 25,000 registered users at LGF.

* There are often more than 5,000 comments posted every single day.

* It is run by *one* person, and comments such as those quoted by CAIR are policed and deleted as soon as possible. But this is an open discussion forum, and comments do not represent the opinion of LGF — as the disclaimer states on every single page of comments.

* The comments quoted by CAIR were posted at LGF for less than two hours before CAIR sent out their press release, and were deleted as soon as the administrator (that would be me) became aware of them. CAIR did not contact me about the comments either—they just went straight to the FBI, and put out a libelous press release.

Unlike the traditional media who continue to appease groups like CAIR, Charles Johnson and many other in the non-traditional media attempt to expose them for the terrorist supporting organization which they are.
