Coldest Winter in Decades?
I haven’t touched on the subject of global warming in quite some time, mostly because I was tired of reading the comments left for me by those who completely ignored what was written by me, focusing instead on Al Gore’s mockumentary. Well I have decided to offer the warm-mongers another chance to attack me for being a “denier” while I laugh at them for denying the inconvenient truth they are about to read. US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration show that there is nearly a third more ice in Antarctica than is usual for the time of year.
Satellite data shows that concerns over the levels of sea ice may have been premature.
It was feared that the polar caps were vanishing because of the effects of global warming.
But figures from the respected US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration show that almost all the “lost” ice has come back.
Ice levels which had shrunk from 13million sq km in January 2007 to just four million in October, are almost back to their original levels.
Figures show that there is nearly a third more ice in Antarctica than is usual for the time of year.
The data flies in the face of many current thinkers and will be seized on by climate change skeptics who deny that the world is undergoing global warming.
A photograph of polar bears clinging on to a melting iceberg has become one of the most enduring images in the campaign against climate change.
It was used by former US Vice President Al Gore during his Inconvenient Truth lectures about mankind’s impact on the world. But scientists say the northern hemisphere has endured its coldest winter in decades.
Of course the “science” of global warming has been settled, as I will inevitably be told in the comments to this article, so any new data which is published is completely meaningless to those who would institute a carbon tax. Those who would benefit from a global tax on carbon like the United Nations, have already begun to walk away from the phrase global warming in favor of “climate change” in an effort to portray any new data as agreeing with them. I can almost hear them now “Did Europe have its hottest summer in decades? That’s because of climate change, we need a carbon tax! Did North America have its coldest winter in decades? That’s because of climate change, we need a carbon tax!”
I find it ironic that while most people would agree that your local weather’s 5 day forecast is not reliable, there are still so many who buy into the belief that climatologists can tell us with certainty what the weather has in store for us decades in advance.

As you know, I’m sure, the first casualty in the culture war that is raging around the globe is truth, including the ability to recognize it and the willingness to accept it. As G.K. Chesterton once said, “If you don’t believe in God, you’ll believe in anything.” And many people in the global warming crowd are secular progressives who completely dismiss any notion of a creator God. This planet is a teeny, tiny dot in an incredible expanding universe created by the great intelligence, and the idea that little old mankind can change the weather is just plain silly. Global climate depends upon solar energy, cloud formations, and the ocean, just to name 3 elements of the system.

Al Gore is the Rosey Ruiz of politics. She was the lass who took a bus to the finish line of the Boston Marathon and then ran across it to claim 1st place for a few hours. Al Gore claims “the debate is over” before any debate has ever taken place. Any evidence or challenge to their faulty evidence is met with cries of being a “denier” or “hating the planet” or other ad hominem tactics.
I am praying for a few true believers to put their money where their mouth is. A few thousand dollars, perhaps, that the next 10 years will be cooler than the last 10. Put my kids through college, please.

As a applied statistician and chemist I spend two years off and on gathering and evaluating global temperatures - published an e-book with data in 2002 - “Global Warming-CO2, Sunspots, or Politics”.
While some small amount of global temperature rise can be detected, it is hard to statistically prove that world wide the temperature in the late 90s is greater than the historical average at either the 95% and often at the 99% confidence level. That said, when I studied the solar cycles from the 1st through the last completed one in early 2000, I devised a statistically sound manner of comparing one to the other and I call it the Solar Cycle Power Index (SCPI). When this is graphed you find that the last two solar cycles are by far and away, the greatest or strongest ever since record have been kept going back into the 1700s. The data is overwhelming and tracks the increases in world temperature that are on record. When the world has been the very coldest the SCPI is nearly zero and the last couple average over 5000 index units.
The lousy so called scientists who bark “global warming” are just political shills not scientists.

There are always rather small groups of people who choose not to believe what the overwhelming majority do believe. They become cults and typically exhibit the same cult behavior

Your last comment on this thread quoted what sothern baptists and the pope had to say about global warming, and you expect to be take seriously? How about the 31,000 SCIENTISTS who have signed a petition which says:
“There is no scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate”
Maybe the southern baptists know more about climate change then scientists do?

They have previously published articles saying that eating soy products turns young boys gay, and SCIENTISTS PROVED IT !!!

P.S. Are you aware that the same people who told us that man made global warming was going to be catastrophic are now telling us that we wont experience any warming for the next 10 years?
