For those of you out there who are Bill O’Reilly fans and have been wondering when the only true conservative running for the Republican nomination would appear on his show, that wait is finally over. Fred will be on The O’Reilly Factor tonight, which means I may have to miss some of the championship game. This is a long awaited event among “Fredheads”, and one which some have dreaded due to the negative comments from Fox News regarding Thompson in recent months.

Say what you want about Bill O’Reilly but his show has a huge following (myself included). This was a smart move by Fred and a long awaited one. O’Reilly’s audience is too large to ignore, and they are generally all Republicans. I agree with everyone else with regards to how Fox has portrayed Fred, mostly as a being lazy despite the amount of appearances he has made over the last few months. Much of this has to do with his laid back demeanor when he speaks (although I consider that a virtue not a fault, we don’t need a President who talks like a cheerleader). If he were to have a heated debate with O’Reilly tonight it may show his viewers the passion Fred has for politics and that would be a huge plus.

In the meantime Fred has set a goal to raise $540,000 by January 11 for the South Carolina primary. Thompson is currently running third in most polls coming out of South Carolina and the added money raised would allow him to get his message to more voters which could help propel him to a win there.
