For those who have contributed to the Fred Thompson campaign in the last 24 hours, thank you! Its now 4pm EST and Fred is only $25,000 from his goal to run his new ad in Iowa. A new poll released today from Iowa by Strategic Vision has Fred Thompson in third place, prompting me to make my second contribution to the Thompson campaign in as many weeks. If Thompson were to finish third in Iowa (ideally we would like to see second), it would be a huge boost to his campaign, and a wake up call to Republicans nationally that he is indeed an electable candidate.

Here is Fred’s message to those of us who have been working hard on behalf of the only true conservative in the race:

We are less than $15,000 from the goal set by the Thompson campaign, but that is a short term goal, and we are in it for the long haul. Unfortunately I am not in a financial position right now to contribute much more, although I intend to do so on a weekly basis as finances permit. I would like to urge my readers to contribute what you can to the Thompson campaign using the link below. As an incentive I will be offering your choice of 1 free year of web hosting on my VPS server, a $25 gift card to Macy’s, or a $25 gift card to Home Depot to the person who contributes the most between now and January 15, 2008.
