Dumb Quote of the Week
I apologize for jumping the gun yesterday and posting my “Dumb Quote of the Week”, I should have known better. At the time I posted it I still had not read this weeks Ted Rall column, and somehow I knew that this weeks winner would come from him. Well he didn’t disappoint, in fact he has two quotes in this one column which deserve the honors:
A reform-minded president’s first act should be to sign a law that reads as follows: “The federal government of the United States having been illegitimate and illegal since January 20, 2001, all laws, regulations, executive orders, and acts of commission or omission enacted between that infamous day and 12 noon Eastern Standard Time on January 20, 2009 are hereby declared invalid and without effect.”
It always amazes me when people put statements this stupid in print. I mean it is one thing to be speaking and have regrettable words slip out, but don’t people read what they are writing before they publish it for the world to read anymore? Does Mr. Rall really want the next President to declare all laws, regulations and executive orders invalid and without effect? Presumably that would also include appropriations bill which funded Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, etc.. Would the Government then ask the American people for the money back?
Bush should never appear on any list of American presidents. When he dies, his carcass shouldn’t receive a state funeral. It ought to be thrown in the trash.
Not only does Rall want Bush’s Presidency to be declared null and void, he also does not want Bush to receive a funeral when he passes away. This is a prime example of how much hatred the left has for President Bush, it is literally blinding to them. These are the same people who will argue in front of the Supreme Court that a mass murderer should not be executed because they may experience a little pain prior to their deaths, but that sense of compassion for the human race quickly disappears when it come to President Bush.
