Obama’s Newest Form of Patriotism
Earlier this month I told you about Barack Obama’s decision to stop wearing the flag lapel pin because he felt it has become a substitute for “true patriotism” since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Via Newsbusters we now see Obama’s newest form of “patriotism”. Take a look at the picture below and see if you notice anything wrong:

According to Time Magazine who originally printed the photo under the heading “Respect”, the picture was taken during the National Anthem. You can see Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin properly placing their right hand over their heart during the Anthem, but what about Obama?
According to United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 71:
During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart
I suppose Barack Obama now feels that holding his hand over his heart during the National Anthem is a similar substitute for “true patriotism”, but I doubt our men and women in uniform would agree. The National Anthem is one of Americas most sacred songs, and any person vying to become commander in chief of our armed forces should show respect to tradition while it is being sung.
Not surprisignly Time magazine made no mention of Obama’s lack of respect, and although the incident occurred on September 17, and the Time magazine photo was printed on October 1, no other major media outlet has mentioned it either.

I firmly believe Obama does not love this country. His presidential bid is only to fulfill his own personal power ambitions and resume, and not a true desire to serve this country and people. (I know, the same case could probably be made with each candidate).
I find Obama’s thoughts and beliefs on this country frightening. I don’t think he’ll succeed in his POTUS bid, and I don’t think he’ll ever see a VPOTUS nomination either. However, he is a Senator, and as a Senator, has a vote on each and every bill that passes through Congress. That is probably more frightening than anything.
