Dumb Quote of the Week

I am amazed at how little effort I need to put into finding the “Dumb Quote of the Week”. This weeks winner is Chris Rowthorn at Smirking Chimp, who also would win for Dumb Article of the Week if I had such a category. His article is titled When America Went Fascist. The entire article reeks of ignorance and blind hatred of President Bush and can pretty much be summed up by reading the title of the article, along with this one quote:

The United States turned fascist on December 11, 2000. On that day, the Supreme Court essentially appointed George W. Bush president of the United States, stopping the recount of Florida votes, and, hence, the democratic process. The justices of the court then slipped away by night, ashamed of their role in murdering America’s great experiment in democratic rule.

Since the author included this definition is his article “Fascism: a system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator”, I suppose it would be reasonable to assume he feels that we are currently living in a dictatorship, and the 2008 elections will not take place.

Unfortunately this is a common rant among those on the far left who will stoop to any level to paint President Bush as an evil man, with constant comparisons to Hitler. Someone should remind these intellectual midgets of one thing, if our country was truly a fascist state, and George Bush was as bad as Hitler, they would already have been executed for their comments.
