Consensus? What Consensus?
Al Gore and his greenies will have you believe there is a consensus that not only does global warming exist, but that it is manmade. In fact Al Gore is so confident that global warming is your fault, he is launching a $100 million a year advertising program to convince you as well. In the meantime he will continue flying around the country and collecting $100,000 each time he speaks to every tree hugging organization this country has ever produced.
Like a great magician, Al Gore uses misdirection to convince you that by driving your car 20 miles to hear him speak, you have just helped to doom the planet. Luckily for you though, Al has a solution, one which can save our planet. All you have to do is pay a company like Generation Investment Management a relatively small fee, and they will plant trees on your behalf to “offset” your carbon footprint. That is awfully nice of them, and especially of Mr. Gore considering he is the chairman of this company.
Mr. Gore has found a couple of scientists to back his theory that by planting a few trees we can save the planet, but he refuses to ever debate anyone on the issue. Al Gore believes his movie An Inconvenient Truth produces undeniable evidence of man made global warming, and swears there is a scientific consensus which backs him up. Here is the problem though, a survey conducted recently shows less than half of all published scientists endorse Gore’s global warming theory. Less than HALF
Medical researcher Dr. Klaus-Martin Schulte recently updated this research. Using the same database and search terms as Oreskes, he examined all papers published from 2004 to February 2007. The results have been submitted to the journal Energy and Environment, of which DailyTech has obtained a pre-publication copy. The figures are surprising.
Of 528 total papers on climate change, only 38 (7%) gave an explicit endorsement of the consensus. If one considers “implicit” endorsement (accepting the consensus without explicit statement), the figure rises to 45%. However, while only 32 papers (6%) reject the consensus outright, the largest category (48%) are neutral papers, refusing to either accept or reject the hypothesis. This is no “consensus.”
The figures are even more shocking when one remembers the watered-down definition of consensus here. Not only does it not require supporting that man is the “primary” cause of warming, but it doesn’t require any belief or support for “catastrophic” global warming. In fact of all papers published in this period (2004 to February 2007), only a single one makes any reference to climate change leading to catastrophic results. (emphasis in the original)
I have written in the past about alternative theories for the moderate increase in temperature over the last few decades. I told you about Dennis Avery’s New York Times best seller “Unstoppable Global Warming Every 1,500 Years“, which contends “our warming is natural, unstoppable — and not very dangerous anyway.” I informed you that although CO2 levels have risen inexorably over the last decade, there has been no increase in temperature. I even reminded you that Mars is undergoing the same warming trend as our planet, making it more likely it is caused by increased solar activity, not man made activity.
Still there are millions of people out there who not only believe global warming is man made, they are willing to pay a new tax to reverse it. The gullibility of the average person never ceases to amaze me.

[…] IPCC is largely fictional, as these 100 scientists will attest to. I had written in the past that less than half of all published scientists endorse Al Gore’s global warming theory, and several other articles regarding climatologists who also do not believe the politicians […]
