Senators Willing to Allow Iraq to Become a Safe Haven for Terrorsits?

On Tuesday a vote was taken on an amendment to be added to the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008. The amendment was very straight foreward, and one in which I believe would recieve the support of any individual with an iota of common sense. The statement of purpose for the amendment is:

To express the sense of the Senate that it is in the national security interest of the United States that Iraq not become a failed state and a safe haven for terrorists.”

Only a fool would vote against such an amendment right? I mean who wants to go on record as stating that it is not in the best interests of the United States to keep Iraq from becoming a safe haven for terrorists? Well America, allow me to introduce to you Senators Byrd (D-WV), Feingold (D-WI), and Harkin (D-IA). The amendment passed by a 94-3 vote, with Senators Biden (D-DE), Inouye (D-HI), Johnson (D-SD) not voting.

Congratulations to Senators Byrd (D-WV), Feingold (D-WI), and Harkin (D-IA), you have proven to Americans with your Nay vote that you do not care about the possible consequences of withdrawing from Iraq.
