America Can’t Wait

wcw08toolate.jpgLiberals had a collective wet dream recently as Hanoi Jane Fonda in conjunction with other leftists placed a full page ad in the New York Times under the heading “2008 Is Too Late”, with a sub heading of “The World Can’t Wait! Drive Out The Bush Regime!” Trying to one up Dennis Kucinich who recently filed articles of impeachment against Vice President Cheney, the ad in the times along with the online petition is calling for the impeachment of both President Bush and Vice President Cheney.

The advertisement lists its grievances with the Bush administration stating:

“Your Government, on the basis of outrageous lies, is waging a murderous and utterly illegitimate war in Iraq, with other countries in its sights.”

This is a follow up to the mindless propaganda spewed by liberals who continue to call it Bush’s war, or even more slanderously calling it Bush’s illegal war. The so-called “lies” referred to are the same “lies” other politicians stated publicly prior to Bush calling for military action in Iraq. Here are just a few:

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), “Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process.” Dec 16, 1998

Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), “We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction.” Sept. 27, 2002

Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), “We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction.” Dec. 8, 2002

Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), “There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years … We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction.” Oct 10, 2002

The next grievance on the list states:
“Your Government, is openly torturing people, and justifying it.”

Yes that is true, our Government has openly tortured people… that is if you consider forcing suspected terrorists to listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers torture!

My favorite grievance listed states:
“Your Government is moving each day closer to a theocracy, where a narrow and hateful brand of Christian fundamentalism will rule”.

Really? I would love to see the evidence backing up this absurd complaint. Every year we see more Ten Commandments removed from court houses, high school graduates prevented from thanking God during their commencement speech and nativity scenes being banned in public courtyards during Christmas the Holidays.

The next grievance listed is:
“Your Government, is moving to deny women here, and all over the world, the right to birth control and abortion”

Once again, no evidence given. What “our Government” is actually doing is limiting tax payer funding to foreign countries when those funds will be used for abortions. The liberals need to get one thing clear, any money we send overseas is done so in the name of charity, we are by no means obligated to provide humanitarian aid to foreign countries. In reference to domestic issues concerning birth control and abortion, the United States Government gave Planned Parenthood over $350 million dollars last year.

The left has been literally throwing temper tantrums ever since the 2000 election which they claim Bush “stole”. For seven years now, and more so in the last three, we have heard cries of impeachment for imaginary crimes committed by the organization. The fact remains, no such crimes were committed, and many of the allegations against the administration would not even be considered impeachable if they had been committed.

The group the World Can’t Wait is worried about the global consequences of another year and a half under President Bush’s command. Like many anti war protesters before them, they ignore the negative impact on America caused by their political rantings. Much like the Jane Fonda of old who lauded the North Vietnamese military, and denounced American soldiers as “war criminals” and liars, the current anti-war group is proving to be just as careless with their public declarations.

Publishing slanderous accusations which paint our government as an oppressive regime, likening it to Hitler, in a newspaper as widely circulated as the New York Times will only harm America’s standing in the worldwide community. These public statements by prominent Americans has fueled the anti-American bias which has spread throughout the globe and will continue to do so until the propaganda machine is halted. America can’t wait for that to happen!
