I suppose it was only a matter of time before the NAACP and other race hustlers spoke out in favor of Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.). As I am sure most Americans are aware it has been the NAACP’s policy that no prominent African American has ever commited a crime unless they were either tricked by whitey or setup by whitey. With that in mind they have recently denounced the allegations against U.S. Rep. William Jefferson.

The group, including ministers and the president of the local chapter of the NAACP, alleged the 16-count corruption indictment was the work of a Republican White House and Justice Department scheming to target black Democratic leaders and shift attention from legal troubles of Republican congressmen.

“When it’s all over, Bill Jefferson will stand up like Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver. He will stand up in the South and he will be victorious,” said the Rev. Samson “Skip” Alexander.

Hillary Clinton once blamed the “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” for allegations against her, the Congressional Black Caucus now has the “Vast White Wing Conspiracy”. Ignoring the fact that Rep. Jefferson was captured on FBI video recieving a bribe of $100,000, along with the fact that $90,000 was found in his freezer (with identical serial numbers to the money used in the bribery sting), the NAACP simply claims Jefferson is a target because he is black.

As oppesed to the Duke Rape case where NAACP President William Barber said the allegations against the white students “suggest a downward spiral from privilege and advantage to decadence and deviance”, the NAACP is asking people to give Jefferson the benefit of the doubt, and donate money to his defense.
