We Are All in It Together, Clinton Says
From the Associated Press - Clinton: Shared Prosperity Should Replace ‘On Your Own’ Society
Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it’s time to replace an “on your own” society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.
The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an “ownership society” really is an “on your own” society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.
“I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society,” she said. “I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none.”
That means pairing growth with fairness, she said, to ensure that the middle-class succeeds in the global economy, not just corporate CEOs.
“There is no greater force for economic growth than free markets. But markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed,” she said. “Fairness doesn’t just happen. It requires the right government policies.”
Lossely translated, Hillary would like to see even more Government interference in your daily life, and greater wealth re-distribution. By advocating the ‘we’re all in it together’ as she calls it, what she is saying is if your neighbor is a failure, you are a failure.
Statements like these are no surprise coming from do as I say, not as I do liberals. After all it was Hillary who said:
“Many of you are well off enough that [President Bush’s] tax cuts may have helped you. We’re saying that for America to get back on track, we’re probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We’re going to have to take things away from you. We’re going to have to have to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.” -Hillary Clinton, San Francisco 6/28/2004
I wonder how much of Hillary’s $8 million dollar book deal she has given away for the ‘common good’.

ACK! If I wanted to live in a socialist society, I would have emigrated to Cuba a long time ago. Just another reason in a long, long list of them why I would rather have my teeth extracted one by one without painkillers and a rusty pair of pliers then have her as president or even vice-president.
