I saw the headline, and I couldn’t not help but smile… it read “Good Riddance Attention Whore“, and I immediately knew it was referring to. That’s right ladies and gentleman, the woman who used the death of her son in Iraq as an excuse to criticize America, and raise money for her own benefit is finally throwing in the towel. But not before taking a few parting shots:

I have spent every available cent I got from the money a “grateful” country gave me when they killed my son and every penny that I have received in speaking or book fees since then. I have sacrificed a 29 year marriage and have traveled for extended periods of time away from Casey’s brother and sisters and my health has suffered and my hospital bills from last summer (when I almost died) are in collection because I have used all my energy trying to stop this country from slaughtering innocent human beings.

Just for the record Cindy, we were not “grateful” to you, we were grateful because your son was a patriot, and deserved our recognition. In reference to your “sacrificing” your marriage and spending extended periods of time away from your family, that goes a long way in telling us what a “wonderful” mother you were to Casey I’m sure. At a time of death, families typically band together and help each other through the grieving process, in the Sheehan household, its every man (or woman) for themselves.

She goes on to say:

“The most devastating conclusion that I reached this morning, however, was that Casey did indeed die for nothing.”

Not surprising to hear this from a woman who also said “America has been killing people on this continent since it was started. This country is not worth dying for…”

She concludes her “resignation’ by saying:

“Good-bye America …you are not the country that I love and I finally realized no matter how much I sacrifice, I can’t make you be that country unless you want it.”

I am sure America will not lose any sleep tonight after Mother Sheehan announced she does not have love for her country. Those who have followed her on her anti-war rampage throughout the country are well aware there was no love lost, it simply was never there.
